How to obtain a custom Google Maps HTML embed with multiple locations and custom markers

This section explains how you can embed a google map with multiple addresses on the Microlearning and how you can customize it to your liking.

1) Make sure you are signed in on Google Maps

You will need a Gmail/Google Account to do this. You should see your profile on the upper-right hand corner of Google Maps once you are logged in.

2) Click on the menu in the upper right

3) Search the place you want to add

4) Click "Save yourself"

5) Click the "Map" tab, then " Open my Maps"

6)Click "Create a New Map"

7) Click on the layer to give it a name

A layer is just a way to “group” 1 or more locations. For now, we will just keep it simple with 1 layer.

Click on the three dots in the upper right corner and then on "Renominate Layer".

Then enter the name layer.

8) Type your 1st business address and press Enter.

9) Now click “+ Add to Map”

10) Click the paint bucket (“Styles”) icon

11) Click “Other icons”, then “Custom Icon”

You can use one of the icons provided by Google if you like or you can upload the logo of your own company by clicking on "Custom icon" in the lower right corner.

12) Upload an image/logo from your PC

If you choose to insert a costumed image this image will appear.

13) Add a 2nd address if you want

If you want, you can enter a second address by typing the street name on the search bar.

14) Repeat the same steps as before, and you will now see 2 addresses in your list

Of course, you can also enter more than one address.

15) Click "Save" and name your map

16) Make sure all 3 toggles are activated

17) Click the 3 dots, then "Embed my site"

18) Copy and paste the provided HTML into your website

You now have a Google Maps embedded into your site, featuring multiple locations and custom markers!
