My Apps is a personal area where only you can collect and organize links, file, apps, and content you want to keep at hand. Thanks to this feature, which brings together all your favorite business apps, you can make the intranet a tool tailored to your work.
Another important aspect is that you can classify links to personal business apps, making them easier to find in the SharePoint intranet and saving you time in searches. In addition, you can choose from over 100 icons to customize your dashboard.
Explore the advantages of Intranet.ai My Apps by clicking here to learn more.
If your page is not already in edit mode, click Edit at the top right of the page.
Hover your mouse above or below an existing web part and you'll see a line with a circled +, like this:
Click on it and, in the web part search box, enter IAI-My Apps to quickly find and select the My apps web part.
In this section, you can name the section, choose the display layout, and specify the list where saved links, files, and apps will be stored.
Complete the tabs as follows:
Title: enter the name you want to give to the section.
For example: My Personal Apps
View options: you can choose between a list view (list of saved items) or title view (each item is represented in a square with an icon and title).
Url list: enter the site URL.
For example: https://intranetai.sharepoint.com/sites/iai-dev-saas-playground/
Select the list where the apps are located: choose the list named User apps list from the dropdown menu.
In this section, you can choose whether to activate the visualization with the scroll and decide how many lines to display
Do you want to activate the visualization with the scroll?: it is set to No by default. If you want the display with scrolling, enable this button by clicking on it.
Choose how many lines to display: if you have chosen to enable scrolling, you can set the number of lines to be shown before you have to scroll down to see more content.
Now you’re set!
Here you can personalize your own favorite links and apps the way you want!
Complete the tabs as follows:
Click on the + Add button.
Then on the new window, click on the + Add button again.
A line appears, with the following fields:
Name: insert the name you want to use for your link.
For example: Google
Url: insert the link you want to save.
For example: https://www.google.com/
Category: here you can enter the various categories to which your applications belong. This way, you can group different elements by categories and make them easier to search. You can create as many categories as you want, and name them the way you prefer.
For example: Websites, Newspapers etc.
Icon: by clicking on the Icon button, a pop-up will appear where you can choose the icon that best represents the link you are adding. Select it and save.
This is how it would look after selecting the icon.
To delete an app, simply follow these steps:
You need to go to the row where the app you want to delete is located and click on the Bin icon at the bottom right.
We remind you that the saved apps/links are personal and can be both internal and external to SharePoint.
As mentioned above, the My Apps web part relies on a list named User apps list, which requires a specific configuration so that intranet visitors can add their personal links. To learn how to configure this list, read the dedicated guide. In particular, please refer to the First type of configuration section.
Click the Edit button on the left of the web part to open the property pane and set options such as List settings and View options. See below for more information on each of these options.
After that, click on the button and it's done!
A message will appear asking if you are sure you want to delete it. Click on the button, and you're done.
